Description
The Helly Hansen W Lifa Merino Midweight Pant is the matching bottom half of Helly Hansen’s Lifa Merino baselayer system, pairing the moisture-moving speed of Lifa synthetic fiber with the natural warmth and odor resistance of ZQ-certified Merino wool. A midweight option that performs across resort skiing, ski touring, and any extended cold-weather outdoor activity.
Key Features
- Lifa x Merino blend manages moisture rapidly while Merino’s natural crimp traps warm air close to the skin, effective for high-output skiing without feeling wet or cold between runs.
- ZQ-certified Merino wool meets strict animal welfare and environmental standards, with traceable sourcing from paddock through production.
- Midweight construction provides genuine warmth for cold resort days and touring without becoming uncomfortable during high-exertion climbs or aggressive runs.
- Natural Merino odor resistance keeps the pant fresh across multi-day use, a real advantage on ski trips where daily laundering isn’t practical.
- Close, articulated fit layers under ski pants without bunching at the knee or restricting movement through turns.

Fit Guide & Care
Fit
Ski and snowboard outerwear is designed to layer over base layers and mid-layers. When sizing, make sure you have enough room to move freely with a mid-layer underneath. Most outerwear runs true to size – check the size chart in the product description. When in doubt, size up for maximum layering room.
Waterproofing & Breathability Ratings
Waterproofing is measured in mm (e.g. 10,000mm – higher is more waterproof). Breathability is measured in g/m2 (e.g. 10,000 g/m2 – higher is more breathable). For ski club and resort skiing, look for a minimum of 5,000mm waterproofing. Serious all-day riders should aim for 10,000mm+.
Washing Your Outerwear
Always wash with a technical cleaner like Grangers Performance Wash, not regular detergent. Tumble dry on low heat to reactivate the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish. Re-apply a spray DWR as needed. Shop tech wash.
